I’m not a fan of daylight savings since it robs the sunlight from late in the day (when I’m up) and gives it to early in the day (when I’m not up) so I was happy to “spring ahead” about a week ago. Here is a series of shots of Ellie before bedtime and thanks to the sprung-ahead clock there is now a remnant of sunlight that comes into her room after bathtime. I found this remnant intriguing and was moved to capture it despite the difficulty of the high ISO and the fact that my camera was constantly hunting in it’s attempt to focus. I know these images are not technically perfect but “perfect” has become less important to me in my journey to create images that mean something.

I have had the privilege of photographing this little rascal in the past and so I had an idea of what I was in for with this session.
Aden has such personality already and is showing an incredible gift with music even at the age of three. I can’t wait to hear his jam sessions with his family in the near future! Happy birthday Aden, us Days are thrilled we get to watch you grow!

It has been awhile since I’ve been to Fish Creek Park but I was happy to visit it with these two and wander around it a little more than I usually do. It was great getting to know some more native Airdronians and I have to say they made my job easy. They needed very little coaching and they had great instincts with being in front of the lens. Congratulations Cory & Lindsay on your engagement and I wish you all the best with your destination wedding in 2013!
