It Doesn’t Look Like Winter

Every Christmas season we make a trip up to my parent’s home in the Peace Country and often it is quite frigid and there is usually lots of snow. This year was definitely an exception since most days it felt like spring and even on one of the days it poured rain like it was June. Now I will admit that the landscape was rather dreary and it didn’t look like Christmas but we got a different kind of treat with outdoor skating for miles. Not only was every dugout and muskeg like glass but so was every driveway and back road. This Christmas will certainly be one to remember. Here are some photos from the excursion. Oh and for those wondering what sort of infestation my parents have in their house, it’s grandchildren. It’s out of control.

I felt very honoured to have been asked to photograph this young family and their one month old son, Kaleb. Kaleb was such a treat to meet, very laid back and a joy to cuddle! It was truly a privilege to have been invited into the “D” family’s home to document this important milestone and I look forward to the next one!

The “L” family has been wanting to have photos done for awhile so I was very honoured to have been chosen to do it! We really couldn’t have been given a more beautiful day for a session, it was absolute perfection. I think that this was my favourite family session I’ve done to date, I had so much fun with these four! Their treasured pup Shadow was also very enjoyable to have along, she had a natural knack for posing. I also need to give a shout out to Payten and Logan for helping me out, you both were the best assistants! Who knew the paparazzi came in tyke form?

The “C” Family – Calgary Family Photography

We had a chilly but gorgeous October morning for my session with the “C” family at Confederation Park. This park is their favourite Calgary haunt and it was a treat having them show me around. Their two girls, Eden and Lilah, were like sunshine that day and I was constantly impressed by Eden’s incredible manners and perfect diction! This family was absolute joy to be around and I hope to see them again soon!

The “E” family are good friends of ours and I was very excited to photograph these three boys last weekend. Their oldest played hockey with Wyatt last year, their middle boy shared a “lost and found” ringpop with Shannon (very gross, I know), and their youngest is already in love with our Ellie . I’m sure our families will continue to make memories in the years to come! Also, next time you’re roaming Big Hill Springs Provincial Park, keep your eyes peeled for these wild Vikings.

Fall Mini Sessions – Calgary Family Photography

If you’re looking to get some family portraits done but don’t feel you need the full 2 hour photo session then consider instead a mini session. On Saturday October 22nd I will be shooting 20 minute sessions at Big Hill Springs Provincial Park. See below the options I have available but if it doesn’t quite fit your needs please inquire about building your own custom package. Time slots are available starting at 1pm. If there is enough interest I will consider adding a second date so if October 22nd isn’t ideal please contact me by email.

Perhaps there isn’t any photos of me lecturing the children on the value of cooperation, but you get the idea. Millions of Peaches

I went up to my parents place in the Peace Country for a week again this summer so the kids could play with their cousins and also so we could can peaches together. We ended up doing over 10 cases and so with two nursing mamas and 5 mobile children about the place, it was a crazy day. Thanks to my mom and brother-in-law, it all did get done though I think it was midnight when the final jars came out of the canner. My niece Brynn, with Bapa.Two crazy garden carrots.Wyatt’s birthday celebration.After cake, Nana and Bapa had arranged to have a back-to-school treasure hunt for the kids.
