From the time I discovered my parent’s 35mm Canon in a cupboard at the age of twelve, I have been drawn to photography. I learned the basics of the art and with every roll of developed film, had a hunger to further develop my skills. It wasn’t until much later that I jumped at a window of opportunity. I started simply by purchasing my first digital SLR and refreshed myself on how to use it. My two young models at home gave me no end of subject with which to practice. My thirst for knowledge sent me researching for hours using the resources at my fingertips. I also knew that nothing could replace hands on experience and moved on to assist a wedding photographer through the summers of 2008 and 2009. It was then that I caught a glimpse of the vision for which I had been looking. As a mother of three children, photography gives me the time to be with them as well as an opportunity to create captivating images. My favourite is to catch the candid moments, to capture the spirit of the day, to tell a story.
